We stayed up late (for me, and early for Mom) watching TV, and on Sunday morning, the expo was still going on. Not so busy at 10:30 on Sunday morning.

Ready to roar out at the crack of noon!

Mom was agreeable about going back to the Astro Diner for breakfast, probably because all we’d had on Saturday were empanadas sitting on a bench. I love the Astro Diner!

We walked towards 5th Avenue to catch a bus going downtown. A guy with two boys was walking by, all of them in Red sports shirts, and I stopped them to ask where they were from. Norway! They’d flown over the for World Cup! It was starting to dawn on me what a huge, huge deal the World Cup is, for people from all over the world.

Passing by Rockefeller Center, we saw these windows feature the Hobbit in the Lego shop window.

We decided to stop into St. Patrick’s Cathedral, because I’m pretty sure I’ve never been inside. There were some tourists and also people attending a service.

And then I thought to myself, “I wonder if there’s a bathroom?” I clicked on a “bathrooms in New York” site, or at least I’m pretty sure I did, and there was, indeed a secret bathroom which had been converted from a confessional. And of course it wasn’t really that secret, because I had to wait in a good-sized line. Here’s the confessional toilet, alongside other regular confessionals.

Or maybe that’s just the one, and the actual confessionals are somewhere else? I did a quick check of the St. Patrick’s Cathedral website and it had many many things listed, but nothing about the secret confessional toilet.

I had to take a quick video when inside.

When I emerged, there was the Priest right there doing the service.

We didn’t stick around, and stopped by the fountain at Rockefeller Center before heading downtown on the bus.

Ok then,

Mrs. Sunday in New York Hughes.
