When I woke up on Monday morning at around 9:30, on our last full day in New York, I looked out the window to see what was happening down the avenue. There was a guy on the roof across the street. He didn’t seem to be doing much. Loitering.

Down below, traffic had resumed after being blocked all weekend. So many cabs in front of the Hilton over yonder.

And then I realized the guy had been waiting for a window-washing gondola. Aha. I waited for them to start but they were actually finished with their job. Oh well. If they’d just begun who knows how much time I’d have wasted, watching them work.

I looked in the windows of the building and saw that not very many people were in there. I think it’s all due to the advent of Covid, people have just never went back to work in offices so much.

My plan was to take a walk/run through Central Park by myself. I left at the crack of 10:15. I realize now that I took so many pictures, why did I think I wouldn’t? I think it’s just instinctual now. Here’s The Pond at Central Park.

And here’s the Hallett Nature Sanctuary, a small wood inside the park at large. The pavement was very uneven at best so I didn’t linger.

I took somebody’s picture and they returned the favor.

I feel like I’ve never seen this landmark, the Louis Vitton Trunk. I wish I’d taken the time to stop by and see the thing in its entirety, and I just read that it was only constructed in late 2024, so the last time I was there it hadn’t been there. Next time I’ll peruse it more carefully, and will probably venture inside even though famous label stuff isn’t my scene.

Here’s the skating rink has been converted into many pickleball courts for the summer.

I hadn’t been in the park that long and like I said, so many photos.
More to follow…
Ok then,
G.H.
