After breakfast at the lodge we headed out for another hike, but first I took a picture of these incredibly cute elf bushes. Such a clever idea, I bet I could do that next year but there’s little chance I’ll remember it by then.

Our first stop was Wildcat Canyon.

Once again, it was awesome to see the water trickling down amidst the icicles.

Here’s a short video of the other side.

It was interesting that it looked/felt so different because it was a grey day. Because it was grey it felt more like winter.

We came to this looooong set of stairs…

…and this it where we came from. There are even more stairs above the ones you can see here.

I took a video to show you the whole deal.

The extraordinary thing to me is that fact that even though we hiked two days in a row, and the second one was more than an hour and a half and we hiked up and down and walked up and down many, many staircases, my knee was just fine. When I had meniscus surgery in June I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to do anything, and right now I’m able to do everything I want.

Here’s our destination, La Salle Canyon.

Here’s a super short video.

Because of the cold and the season, and maybe because of Covid, we didn’t see many people all the time we hiked.

Three young men entered the canyon after us and they walked close to that flowing water; did they actually go behind it? Maybe not, because I think it was very icy.

We obviously got pretty close to it.

Hiking out.

A good time was had by all.

Meanwhile…Glenn had done an excellent job of corralling our kitties and when I unpacked my bag, Lester quickly climbed atop it.

Right now, here at home, it’s 11 degrees with a wind chill of -2, and I’m thankful not to be out in the weather.

Ok then,

Mrs. January is already half over, spring is right around the corner Hughes.
