It seems like we’ve already had lots more snow this winter than years in the recent past. Here’s the snowdrift on top of the grill way back at the beginning of December. You can just see the eyes of the cute little snail.

And for a while, late at night there’d be a lone deer scrounging for food under the bird feeders. Kevin get to see some fabulous sunrises but I get to watch late-night deer feeding.

The darling Princess, snuggling down in Kevin’s freshly cleaned and dried clothes down on the ironing board.

It doesn’t matter the weather (unless it’s pouring rain), Riley is always up for a game of chase the stick. And he might even want to play in the rain but I haven’t ventured out in a rain storm to test that theory.

Last night it was about to snow so I hurried out to put the outside pillows away and Riley ran after me and we did play a very brief but enthusiastic-on-his-part chasing of stick.

By December 11th the snow was mostly gone and Spot enjoyed a walk down by the water.

Actually, last night I rushed out to the prison yard to scoop up the pillows out there after putting away the ones in the fenced yard so they wouldn’t get wet and Spot really really wanted to go for a walk in the dark freezing night Crazy cat.

It snowed some more in the middle of the month and I bravely crossed the road with Kevin and did a small amount of skiing in the field. It was pretty fun but exhausting. I was out for a little less than an hour (and fell only once), and Kevin skiied back to the road with me and then proceeded to spend another hour or so out there. He’s a mighty fit fella, my Kevin.

Amy is very determined to get Mom into better cardiovascular shape so they’ve been taking walks, and lots of times they’ve had to go to the mall because of the cold and snow. I’ve accompanied them sometimes. The mall is normally is a very boring place with almost no stores still open but one afternoon there was a woman with a tiny owl standing on her hand! That’s never happened before. It’s a rescue and I’m not sure why they were walking in the mall…so cute.

And there you have it. I hope your weekend is a good one.

Ok then,

g.h.
