I hope yours is going well, or maybe it’s all done…I’m in charge of turkey breast, whole wheat rolls, pumpkin pies, plus I just made a salad for Kevin because he doesn’t like green bean casserole. The turkey breast is in the oven and it’s actually starting to smell pretty good. I made the pies and the rolls yesterday thank goodness, so I had some time to watch a little of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.
I mostly fast-forwarded through it, and certainly had the sound down for the majority of it but now I’m realizing that I forgot to watch the Rockettes. Maybe they’ll be on You Tube? Surely they will since it appears that almost everything in the entire world is on You Tube.
OK, still working on October photos…here’s Riley, so happy to be up on top of the cat house in the fenced yard.

We have no rooms facing the front so I don’t usually know what’s going on out there, but I saw that this deer was very cute as I glanced out the front door.

Spot, delighted to be out for a walk at the end of October. Gee, it’s supposed to snow a lot on Saturday so I’d better take him for a walk soon. Tomorrow!

The white pelicans rarely venture as close as this to the shore.

Mom’s house, two doors down, is on a bay and it has gotten very dried up because of the lack of rain. I spotted these deer frolicking in the shallows. Maybe not “frolicking” exactly, but they certainly seemed to be enjoying drinking out of the lake.

I’ve probably mentioned this before, but this is Riley’s favorite thing in the world now, playing with the stick. I have to wave it around in the yard and he frantically dives for it and chases it all about, but sometimes he’s not interested and I’m standing out there waving the stick around for no good reason.
Just about every morning we do this, and then a few times during the day, and also, what about the impending snow? Right now they’re forecasting 7 inches on Saturday. That means that in order to play with the stick I’d have to clear paths in the grass, but on the other hand maybe Riley would prefer to stay inside where it’s warm and cosy? But he loves to go out in all kinds of weather. Maybe we won’t have all that snow…

It’s a good thing I set the timer on the oven for less than the time the turkey was supposed to cook, because suddenly it’s done and now there will be lots of busy-ness for a while, followed by a goodish amount of food.
Ok then,
Mrs. Holiday Hughes.
