So…things are all right. I opened up my laptop again after a hiatus, so that’s something. Plus I’m cancer-free! So that’s something else.
Almost three weeks of not doing much of anything. Kevin and i did take a couple of short walks on Friday and they went pretty well but right now it’s much too hot out to do any walking. Maybe tomorrow, if I wake up in time. I’m still napping mostly every day. We went to the Route 66 Car Show on Saturday for a while and it was pretty hot and we walked a fair amount. I stopped every now and again and i sat down and rested for a while, and when we got home I napped for an hour. Very very exciting, life right now.
Here are a couple more photos from August. Kevin and I walked all the way to Sgt. Peppers restaurant on August 4th, Kevin’s birthday, to start preparing for the trip we were going to take. We were going to Yellowstone for three nights and Grand Teton National Park for six nights so we needed to do some walking to get ready.
It was 3.6 miles to the restaurant and we were going to have Mom join us at the restaurant and then drive us home but we decided to walk back. Not bad, about 7 miles of walking. Here’s Kevin standing in front of some mighyt tall corn as we headed over.

Of course we couldn’t take our trip but it’s OK, there’ll be other chances for going places. I’m hoping we’ll go somewhere warm this winter but on the other hand maybe we won’t need to because it might continue to be warm throughout the winter.
On August 8th Kevin set sail on his sailboat; I bet that’s the first time this year.

Sitting on the dock enjoying the view…have I mentioned that I’m not supposed to walk up the hill during this healing process? No strolling down to the dock, and no boat rides. Kevin says he could drive me up the hill in the Thing, and I’m thinking about that.

It was a beautiful night for a boat ride…

And Kevin sailed again in August…

Princess, always so cute, except we haven’t started trying to integrate he into life with Riley yet, and I hope it happens sometime.

And that’s about it for this summer-like fall day.
Ok then,
Mrs. Recovering Nicely Hughes.
