Twenty five MPH winds today, c’mon. It’s in the 30s but feels like it’s in the 20s plus I almost fell over when outside. I’d rather be inside, thank you very much, and hope to remain so for the remainder of the day.

I took the pillows outside for the garage kitties because I’d taken them in when it rained. This afternoon when I got to the prison yard, Spot was quite sure that we were going to go for a nice walk and I had to keep saying BACK BACK BACK so he wouldn’t try to run out the gate.

Meanwhile, October. This was a pretty good shot of the moon way back at the start of the month.

The Princess continues to be utterly adorable, but also desirous of killing Riley. So, kitty relations still not so great. But she’s just so dang cute. This is her favorite toy, the tie to a pillow that I cut off the pillow so she could play with it.

Boat ride! This was the last boat of the year, right after I was cleared to walk down to the water, and before we had to take the boat out for the year.

Riley and Lester, always so cute, but I don’t recall them sitting atop the cat house together at other times this year.

Lester looks awfully old here. But the funny thing that he’s started doing is drinking water out of the sink. I have to close the drain on whatever sink he wants to drink out of and then I have to hold his head back while it’s filling a little because otherwise he’d let his head get all wet. And of course we have many, many bowls of water for the cats to drink out of. But being a cat, he feels that sink water is the most delectable and delicious. Besides the water under the plant stands, of course.

The lake has gotten so low that Kevin was able to walk out on this dead tree over the water. He’s confident that it’ll get low enough so he’ll be able to retrieve a chainsaw cover that fell in the water when he was chopping at branches. Hmm, that must have been last year, I wonder if the cover will be concealed with lake sludge?

I was excited to go running again on October 23rd. When I got across the street to the Spencer yard, a couple of sleeping deer were scared and ran off. But as I was heading back after being out for maybe a half hour, I realized they’d found a new spot to lie down. This time they realized I wasn’t a threat.

I kept having some bad post-surgery stomach pain and finally went to an acupuncturist who told me that I had a traumatic surgery and my body is delicate about surgery and I wasn’t healed and I should wait a month before running. He said I shouldn’t do anything jarring.

I wasn’t that upset about this because it made sense. Instead, Kevin and I have been walking and I did yoga outside two times which was fun. The first time I did it in the grass and the ground was way more uneven and bumpy that it looked, and yesterday I did it on the wooden deck which was just a bit too hard and it was a little chilly. But still enjoyable. It’s going to get warmer by the end of the week so I’ll try that again.

In the meantime…November, already.

Ok then,
