i only have five minutes before i have to have the ice pack on my face for 20 minutes, then off for 20 minutes, til bedtime.\u00a0 then the same, ALL DAY TOMORROW.<\/p>\n
when the periodontist looked at my teeth to see which one was the worst and needed to be done today, he said that one was MUCH WORSE than just a year ago, and he’d do the grafting on that tooth and the one right next to it.<\/p>\n
so apparently i got TWO FOR ONE.\u00a0 not cheap, certainly.<\/p>\n
and not as bad as i’d anticipated.<\/p>\n
the anticipation was pretty bad, and i kept feeling the need to keep telling people about getting the SKIN ON THE ROOF OF MY MOUTH CUT OFF, because it gives me the heebie jeebies and i wanted to share that.<\/p>\n
but so anyway first they took my blood pressure and it was waaaay higher than it usually is, which wasn’t surprising.\u00a0 i decided to take a half a xanax before going and at first i didn’t think it had any affect at all, but now i think it did.<\/p>\n
i guess the worst part is after he swabs the two different areas with deadening good, then there’s the HUGE ASS HORRIBLE NEEDLE going in….and in…and in some more.\u00a0 and even though it was just a pinch at the beginning, then not so bad, it was the feeling of knowing that HUGE ASS NEEDLE was going in deeper and deeper and deeper.<\/p>\n
yuck.<\/p>\n
and then another needle in the same place, and then a bunch of the same on the roof of my mouth.<\/p>\n
and then the sawing off of the little piece of skin.\u00a0 it didn’t really feel like anything, it was that KNOWING.\u00a0 but like i said, i think the xanax helped.\u00a0 i started thinking about our trip to england two summers ago and what we did there.\u00a0 i thought about going to the churchill museum, and how interesting it was.\u00a0 i thought i’d like to get a good book about churchill, but maybe kevin already has (at least) one.<\/p>\n
and then the sawing part was over, and he moved onto the SEWING THE SKIN FROM THE ROOF OF MY MOUTH onto the front of my gums.<\/p>\n
and no, i couldn’t feel it, but i knew he was sewing, i could feel the thread.\u00a0 just three stitches.<\/p>\n
and then BOOM, it was over.<\/p>\n
took maybe 50 minutes.<\/p>\n
and now i’m past due for the 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off with the ice, which sounds boring and tiring both.\u00a0 also kinda chilly on this cold day – the last time i had this torture, it was august.<\/p>\n
i already turned the heat up in the house to make it no tolerable.<\/p>\n
NO HOT TEA tomorrow morning, and i don’t know how i’ll survive without my lapsang souchong.\u00a0 i could let it cool; i suppose tepid lapsang souchong is better than none.<\/p>\n
i’m hoping also to take mollie for a little walk tomorrow. 20 minutes, in between the ice packs.<\/p>\n
kevin is walking her now.\u00a0 she was SO HYSTERICAL when we got home, even though we’d been gone less than 2 hours.\u00a0 i said that maybe she wouldn’t get so hysterical if we went places more, but kevin said she would.<\/p>\n
i was reallly hoping to stop by the huge new menards on our way home to get a bunch of samples to replace our kitchen counters, but i think it’s good that i’m just sitting here, instead.<\/p>\n
