<\/p>\ni started watching the nonstop coverage of HURRICANE SANDY yesterday on the weather channel, and earlier in the day one of the dozens of reporters getting soaked and blown around out there mentioned all the huge mansions owned by famous people, like jerry seinfield and paul simon, and how they were all in danger.<\/p>\n
as the day progressed i kept the tv on with the sound off, and every once in a while would come in and listen til i couldn’t stand it anymore, but there was NO MORE MENTION of paul simon’s house!\u00a0 WHAT HAPPENED TO IT?\u00a0 did all the shingles blow off?\u00a0 was it swept away?\u00a0 not a word!\u00a0 i just checked google news, and i found nothing about paul’s house whatsoever.\u00a0 i hope he’s ok.\u00a0 i’d send him a care package if i had his address.<\/p>\n
it’s funny to think of big stars and how amazingly wealthy they are, because i usually don’t think of that, so when i do, it’s like, hmm, they have more money than most of us.\u00a0 well, me, anyway.<\/p>\n
but just the other night i was watching arnold schwarzenneger on one of my favorite talk shows, graham norton, and arnold was talking about how he loved public service, and he didn’t bother to take the salary when he was governor because, you know, it would be CHUMP CHANGE.<\/p>\n
normally the starts don’t like to bring up their overwhelmingly fabulous wealth, so we will be kidded into thinking they’re more like regular folks, but i liked it that arnold just came out and said that.<\/p>\n
anyway, HALLOWEEN…not so impactful for me this year.\u00a0 we went out on saturday night for a little while, and tonight there’s a costume “party” during a zumba class, although i keep asking amy WHY IS THERE NO CANDY?\u00a0 i do need to buy some halloween candy for the three trick or treaters we will get – i should just buy three candy bars, because otherwise there will be so much leftover candy sitting around, which is always much too tempting.<\/p>\n
friday night we volunteered at bingo and they had this great cat there.<\/p>\n

i love that kitty.\u00a0 kevin pointed out that he looks like chester.<\/p>\n
i have a lot to say about the interesting world of bingo, but right now i have to go get the oil changed in the car because on thursday we are going to see MADONNA in st. louis and i want to get there safely with enough oil in the car.\u00a0 whoo hoo, madonna!\u00a0 only i have read a few reviews of her other concerts around the country, and they mentioned that the time printed on the tickets is 8:00 p.m., but she didn’t take the stage til TEN THIRTY.\u00a0 good lord, how will i stay awake for that???<\/p>\n
kevin thought he fortified the fence again yesterday because les has been escaping once again, but this morning he watched as les SPRINTED to the fence and hurled himself up it and over.<\/p>\n
