<\/p>\nlast night we were watching the first “mission impossible” movie which seemed rather dated – tom cruis dangling from a wire was fumbling around inserting a FLOPPY DISC into a computer – and mollie was acting really lethargic.\u00a0 we thought it was because she’d eaten half a loaf of french bread that was sitting on the counter when i went for a bike ride yesterday morning.<\/p>\n
but then, we got up to go to bed and she suddenly lurched up and twitched and jumped.\u00a0 a seizure.\u00a0 oh my god.\u00a0 then she started panting really heavily and her breathing seemed erratic and there were a few frantic minutes of trying to find out shoes and carrying her out to the car.<\/p>\n
i took her out to the yard to see if she had to pee while kevin ran inside to find his shoes.\u00a0 mollie not only didn’t want to pee, but she just sat there in the grass, and then she laid down, and she never, ever acts like that and she was just lying there and i was SURE SHE WAS ABOUT TO DIE AND WHY THE HELL IS IT TAKING KEVIN SO LONG TO FIND HIS DAMN SHOES???<\/p>\n
she was lying in my lap as kevin drove and WHY COULDN’T HE DRIVE FAST, LIKE A COP???\u00a0 there was almost no traffic at maybe around 11 on sunday night.<\/p>\n
we finally made it to the emergency animal ER and there was a poor little kitty lying on an examining table in one room.\u00a0 i hope it was ok.\u00a0 they took us into another room and had us fill out papers and WHY COULDN’T THEY MOVE FASTER?\u00a0 i was still convinced that death was imminent for our dog.<\/p>\n
on the way to the vet, the only thing i could think of that she could have gotten into was the liquid fence, the horrible, putrid stuff that i had sprayed on the hostas the night before because the deer had started eating all the flowers off the tops of them.<\/p>\n
finally, FINALLY, the vet came in and i told him about the liquid fence and he didn’t seem worried about it. he wanted to do some blood work on her, and he said she was pale.\u00a0 how does he know that, i asked kevin. it’s because her gums were pale.\u00a0 who knew?<\/p>\n
anyway, bottom line, she’s pretty fine now although very groggy, but that might be because of the valium the doctor gave her last night.\u00a0 she could have seizures once in a while, but she’ll be ok as long as they don’t last for a really long time which would make her overheat and then she’d have a brain tumor or something.<\/p>\n
we were home by 12:30 last night, and mollie was lying quietly on the bed with us.\u00a0 it was a peaceful night except some kitties were fighting kind of loudly.<\/p>\n
and this morning i’m sitting here quietly and les paul is lying under the computer desk looking up at me like a little angel, and after a while i realize he’s gnawing on some hanging thing and in the back of my mind i think it’s the shoe string that hangs down, but WAIT A MINUTE…THAT SHOE STRING IS ON THE DINING ROOM CHAIR!<\/p>\n
he was dilligently gnawing away on the NEWLY-REPLACED COMPUTER CORD!<\/p>\n
bad, bad kitty.<\/p>\n
here’s chester, who is lying like this a lot in the front hall when we come home.<\/p>\n
