it’s almost nine o’clock on monday morning, and already the week is starting with all kinds of excitement.<\/p>\n

i just read that missing neutrons might be visiting parallel universes!\u00a0 theoretical physicists in italy have come up with this explanation of missing neutrons.\u00a0 the neutrons aren’t gone very long, but they do disappear, so they could be entering a parallel universe. this sounds so star treky to me.<\/p>\n

also, the world’s population is 17 MILLION TONS OVERWEIGHT.\u00a0 good grief.\u00a0 not only that, but despite only making up five per cent <\/strong>of the world’s population, the United States accounts for almost a third <\/strong>of the world’s weight due to obesity, the researchers found.\u00a0 In contrast, Asia has 61 per cent<\/strong> of the world’s population but only 13 per cent<\/strong> of the world’s weight due to obesity.<\/em><\/p>\n

Well, we probably could have guessed that, couldn’t we have?\u00a0 we are fat, we are sedentary, we need to EAT LESS, EXERCISE MORE.\u00a0 plus, they are surely counting north korea in that asian figure, right, and we know that the north koreans are starving, except for the people in charge.<\/p>\n

but there are a lot more chinese, of course, than north koreans, but although they’re not starving, the chinese have to be so focused on making the billions of tons of crappy crap that we are always importing from them that they don’t have time to eat.<\/p>\n

and then there’s bev’s leftover container.<\/p>\n

she came over for dinner one night, and she brought, among other things, including delicious cheesy potatoes, a container of radishes.\u00a0 she had created radish roses with them, and they were very cute.\u00a0 when she got here i was, as usual, whirling around in the kitchen like a mad dervish, and i immediately put her to work helping me.\u00a0 bev is very good at this.<\/p>\n

but in the flurry of activity, we forgot all about her radishes sitting in the fridge.<\/p>\n

bev called the next day to say she’d left them, and of course by then i’d seen them sitting there forlornly in the fridge.\u00a0 she said we could eat them, but she would like to get her leftover container back sometime.\u00a0 that\u00a0 night amy had the family over for dinner so i took the radishes over there.<\/p>\n

we ate some, but amy left the container out on the counter all night.<\/p>\n

meanwhile, bev was still hoping to get the container back.\u00a0 she came over for dinner another night, and she brought a leftover container that she said was IDENTICAL TO THE ONE SHE’D LEFT.\u00a0 “it’s a take along container,” she said.\u00a0 or maybe a travel tote, or something with a lot of Ts in the name.\u00a0 it was round, and it said TAKE ALONG in big letters on the top, and i said i thought amy had it, but we looked through my leftover containers and we didn’t see it.<\/p>\n

the next day i went to amy’s and told her bev’s sad take along tale, and amy looked through her leftover containers, but no take along tote anywhere.\u00a0 she said maybe she had put leftovers in it.\u00a0 she also showed me a round container that said RUBBERMAID on the top, but i said, no, that can’t be it, it has to day TAKE ALONG on the top in big letters.\u00a0 bev had brought a demo to show me.<\/p>\n

all that was about a week ago, and last night amy told me that she’d taken a picture of the radishes in the leftover container to send to me because she had left them on the counter.\u00a0 she’d forgotten all about the photo til she was going through her phone photos deleting them, and she sent me the photo last night.<\/p>\n

and as you can plainly see, it doesn’t say TAKE ALONG on the top, it says RUBBERMAID.<\/p>\n

it is funny to have actual documentation.<\/p>\n

bev will be SO RELIEVED to see that amy does have her container after all, but because bev is always quite accurate in her cataloging of containers, i hope this doesn’t mean she’s slipping.<\/p>\n

and how are the scientists going to figure out if those neutrons are really travelling to a parallel universe?\u00a0 could they tie a piece of string around one or something?\u00a0 and also, is everybody GROSSLY OVERWEIGHT there, and if not, could we somehow learn from them their secrets of diet and exercise?<\/p>\n

there is just so much to ponder this monday morning, but i have many things to accomplish so i mustn’t just sit here and dwell.<\/p>\n
