who knows what she\u2019ll be doing.<\/p>\n
yesterday i made (and froze) the first wedding cake layer, the bottom 14″ layer and it turned out perfect. i was surprised and delighted. i\u2019d actually read a little of one of the many books i kept checking out of the library about wedding things, and there was this thing about things called magic strips – they\u2019re these long fabric kind of strips that you get wet and then wrap around the outside of the pan so that it bakes more slowly around the outside since big cakes tend to bake unevenly. there was also another thing called a cone something that you put in the middle of the pan and fill with frosting. this makes it so that the middle of the cake isn\u2019t still raw when the rest is done.<\/p>\n
i bought both of these things and i have to say that they worked like a charm and i\u2019m excited about the rest of the cake-baking.<\/p>\n
other than that – i talked to christine this morning and she said she thinks “little miss sunshine” is FABULOUS only i know that\u2019s not the exact word she used, maybe brilliant? anyway, i agreed that it was really really good and perhaps i didn\u2019t make that clear enough in the last posting although i do recall saying “two thumbs up.” maybe i should have added “WAY up.”<\/p>\n
she\u2019s buying her bridesmaid dress this weekend, one that she gets to pick out herself. i\u2019m just happy that i don\u2019t have to be with her when she goes shopping, because this can be a somewhat painful process because she usually gets sick of the whole thing after approximately four minutes in any given store. good luck to whoever she might take with her.<\/p>\n
i\u2019m sure she\u2019ll find something lovely.<\/p>\n
i guess that\u2019s all for now because there are hundreds of things i should be doing, especiallly vacuuming.<\/p>\n
