i woke up a little while ago, and was lying in bed feeling pretty good about life because i\u2019d somehow managed to sleep through most of the night. i didn\u2019t wake up till six, and was able to go back to sleep for a while longer, so i felt that the day is going to be GOOD.<\/p>\n
AND THEN I LOOKED OUTSIDE.<\/p>\n
SNOW.<\/p>\n
OH. MY. GOD.<\/p>\n
i thought we were done with all that.<\/p>\n
I THOUGHT WE WERE DONE WITH ALL THAT.<\/p>\n
remember the article in the paper, the one in late december or early january that said the rest of the winter was going to be MILD and all the badness was BEHIND US???<\/p>\n
badness. right outside my door.<\/p>\n
ok, i have to admit that after my initial shock-n-horror, i looked more closely and the amount of snow on the ground is fairly insignificant.<\/p>\n
the thing i really hate, though, is that it covers up all the ground, thereby making it seem much more wintery. if there\u2019s no snow, i can look out and imagine that spring is right around the corner.<\/p>\n
snow. not a good way to start my day.<\/p>\n
but ok, ok, now i\u2019m suddenly resolved. i\u2019ll IGNORE it. yep, that\u2019s what i\u2019ll do. i won\u2019t look outside. when i was at the mall the other day, in the middle court there are all these little booths selling all kinds of crap, and one of them had a display of these cheesy things, they\u2019re photos of islands and waterfalls and stuff but they have lights in the back and so it looks like the water is moving. cheesy, yes, but maybe if i had a bunch of those and put them in all the windows, i could imagine that i\u2019m someplace warm and sunny.<\/p>\n
oh WAIT, that\u2019s RIGHT…i\u2019m theoretically going to be headed to LA in the not-too-distant future. tentative plans now for the end of march. i\u2019m waiting to get the official word from jerri and brendan, the official news of the actual date, news that this is actually, really, definitely going to happen.<\/p>\n
i\u2019m being very patient about it.<\/p>\n
except that now there\u2019s this snow on the ground…<\/p>\n
rehearsal went pretty well last night, except when i got home i was thinking about how i\u2019m never quite sure how it\u2019s going to go when i get onstage. sometimes we say the lines exactly as they\u2019re written, sometimes we say other things, but it\u2019s always sort of close to what\u2019s supposed to be happening. there were a few times when people were on stage and nobody said anything, but i don\u2019t believe i was involved in any of that.<\/p>\n
and now it\u2019s COMING RIGHT UP, opening night. i feel ready.<\/p>\n
pretty ready.<\/p>\n
fairly ready.<\/p>\n
why not?<\/p>\n
ok, i have to go outside and ignore the snow. i am glad i have new tires now, because the guys at my car place (FLOYD IMPORTS, by the way, and they\u2019re the best guys in town) have kept telling me that i really need new tires for a while now, and they\u2019re always usually pretty low key about stuff i need to have done, so i know it was way past time when i needed them.<\/p>\n
i hope your wednesday is good in every way. <\/p>\n
