<\/p>\n…and once again i\u2019m in bed. i haven\u2019t spent the entire weekend in bed, it only feels that way.<\/p>\n
but i\u2019m about to jump out of bed and accomplish the things that i cleverly managed to avoid yesterday. <\/p>\n
but first, a few photos.<\/p>\n

last night we went to the opening of the Praire Art Alliance show featuring some of my dad\u2019s work. i like his abstract paintings the best. here\u2019s a photo of one of his paintings. i believe it\u2019s called “three divas.”<\/p>\n

if you want to view the show, it\u2019s going to be up for two months. at the Hoogland Center for the Arts.<\/p>\n
the opening was fun. we surprised dad by renting a limo to drive us to the arts center. it was randy\u2019s idea. we\u2019d hoped dad would open the door to leave the house and there would be the limo, but i think this was too much to hope for. at least he didn\u2019t know about the surprise till the limo got to the house, but dad said he was in his bedroom and could hear a chug chug chug and knew it didn\u2019t sound like a vehicle any of us drive.<\/p>\n

i have some photos from inside the limousine, but i\u2019ll put them up later after i\u2019ve accomplished a few things today.<\/p>\n
i don\u2019t know why i forgot to take photos at the actual event, but i think Amy managed to do so. i was busy having wine and cheese. when we first got there, i sliced a piece of smoked gouda and promptly dropped it on the floor, then i tried to unobtrusively kick it under the table, but it instead stuck to the bottom of my shoe. amy said that was “instant bad karma” because i\u2019d tried to do something bad and immediately was punished for it.<\/p>\n
dad chose to hang paintings from different periods in his life, including a couple i\u2019d never even seen. there\u2019s a painting of me as a child, and one of mom that he did a long time ago. plus there are three oil paintings that are highly detailed, fanciful scenes. these have hung in their house forever, and they remind me of my childhood. i think i\u2019ll go back to the hoogland and take some photos of the paintings.<\/p>\n
after the opening we went to norb andy\u2019s for dinner which was quite nice because we got to sit at a round table. when you\u2019re in a group of people you should always be able to sit at a round table, because then everybody can talk to each other. when i was at norb andy\u2019s for dinner the night before with the cast of my play, we were at a long table, so i didn\u2019t get to talk to anybody at either end.<\/p>\n
finally, I\u2019m about to bustle around like crazy, even though it looks bleak and cold outside right now…<\/p>\n
