so in between playing YOU DON’T KNOW JACK and getting ice cream, kevin and i did go down to the dock at least once.\u00a0 a storm was rolling in…<\/p>\n

what a great tie-dyed t-shirt, huh?\u00a0 i bought it for kevin at the fancy farmers’ market in kenosha when mollie and i were there shopping.\u00a0 mollie was hot and she didn’t like the crowds so we didn’t stay long, but i just had to have a t-shirt.\u00a0 i’m always one the lookout for good tie-dye but usually they look crappy.\u00a0 now i wish i’d bought one for myself, because i only have one and although the colors are fantastic, it’s very old and it’s too huge to wear for anything but a nightshirt.<\/p>\n

i’m sure another one will come along.\u00a0 meanwhile…we stopped at a rest stop on our drive home, and kevin was walking mollie, waiting for me.\u00a0 he told me that two young guys, one with a really long beard and the other one with a marijuana leaf t-shirt, passed him.\u00a0 they looked at his tie-dye and his birkenstocks and knowingly nodded.\u00a0 clearly, kevin was one of them.<\/p>\n

we bought thought this was very funny and so now kevin at least looks like he’s part of the smokin’ crowd.\u00a0 it suddenly started raining, and maybe you can see the big drops hitting the lake.<\/p>\n

the cake – a splenda carrot cake that even dad likes even though it’s not made with real sugar.<\/p>\n

i found some toy story candles; the big one is buzz lightyear, and the little ones are those funny little martians.\u00a0 i should have taken a closeup of them.\u00a0 notice numie sitting there in jim’s lap, being very good.<\/p>\n

BUT WAIT! says numie!\u00a0 i smell BIRTHDAY CAKE!!!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

WAIT!\u00a0 HE’S BLOWING OUT THE CANDLES…DON’T I GET ANY OF THAT, MISTER?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

numie has given up on cake but was happy to leap onto dad’s lap.<\/p>\n

mom and david – i took one more picture of them because i told mom she looked a little crazy.\u00a0 but crazy isn’t necessarily a bad thing…<\/p>\n

amy was clearly dashing around for photo ops.<\/p>\n

the festivities wore mollie out.<\/p>\n

i like the way the birthday hat is sort of hanging there in the background.<\/p>\n

i also took a video of the birthday chaos when numie and noodle arrived, and i will post it here soon.<\/p>\n
