for some reason i didn’t want to write that.\u00a0 i don’t know why.\u00a0 i’m just like that sometimes.<\/p>\n
so far mom has taken me to get a pedicure and i told the nail woman that it was my birthday so she painted little diamond flowers on both big toes.\u00a0 my big toes are now SO FANCY.\u00a0 i guess that’s a good thing for a massage therapist, so when people are lying there and can see my toes and then the sparkly diamond flowers will be just DAZZLING.<\/p>\n
and then kevin took me out for a chocolate peanut butter ice cream cone.<\/p>\n
so i was thinking about it and realized that thus far i’ve been celebrating my birthday like your average preteen girl.<\/p>\n
but later i will drink plenty of wine.\u00a0 so i guess that makes it more like a teenage girl’s birthday.<\/p>\n
the only thing i need to make this birthday a complete success is some CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE FROSTING.<\/p>\n
i’m sure i wrote about this before but it certainly bears repeating – one year a few years ago i kept saying, over and over ALL I WANT IS A CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE FROSTING.<\/p>\n
i got vanilla cake.<\/p>\n
with vanilla frosting.<\/p>\n
somewhat disappointed, but it was OK.\u00a0 i guess i’m starting to think that birthdays are ok, not horrible, but, well…i just keep getting older.<\/p>\n
but then i say to myself\u00a0 BUT CONSIDER THE ALTERNATIVE.<\/p>\n
i say that to other people when they bemoan how old they’re getting.\u00a0 i realize it’s always so much easier to give out these little GEMS OF PEARLS OF WISDOM than it is to actually listen to them myself.<\/p>\n
