in the middle of the night the power went out and i lied there in bed listening to it rain…and rain…and rain…and rain.\u00a0\u00a0 i spent my time worrying about various and sundry things, and finally kevin got up.\u00a0 i decided there was no point in getting up because who knows what time it was anyway.\u00a0 but he came into the bedroom and told me it was eight, and there was some water coming in the basement.<\/p>\n
all the places down there that he’d diligently sealed up were completely dry.\u00a0 but water is a very determined type of thing, and so instead of coming in in one place, it was coming in in the laundry room, and in the new part of the basement.\u00a0 i got up and helped him move some stuff out of the standing water.\u00a0 not a pretty sight.<\/p>\n
the power went\u00a0 on, finally, and i’ve been sitting here reading about the oil spill, that there’s a good chance it’s going to reach the florida keys, which would, of course, be devastating.<\/p>\n
it’s supposed to rain here all day.\u00a0 another cold, dark, rainy day.<\/p>\n
i started reading my online comics, in order to bring a little levity to myself, but most of them hadn’t updated since yesterday.\u00a0 in the comments section, people were saying that they didn’t know why this was happening, that something was terribly wrong with something somewhere…<\/p>\n
