{"id":362,"date":"2005-10-31T22:35:31","date_gmt":"2005-10-31T22:35:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/graceuncensored.com\/WordPress\/?p=362"},"modified":"2005-10-31T22:35:31","modified_gmt":"2005-10-31T22:35:31","slug":"more-halloween","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/graceuncensored.com\/WordPress\/uncategorized\/more-halloween\/","title":{"rendered":"MORE halloween"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>this afternoon we went on a tour of the coors brewery, since we\u2019re right here in golden, colorado, home of coors beer.  i don\u2019t like beer.  i was unenthusiastic about going on a brewery tour.  but it was surprisingly fun.  i took quite a few photos, and i liked the smell of the hops and\/or the barley, and i was interested to hear how they make the beer, and by the end of the tour i thought, WOW, i hope i like beer!  maybe i will!  i\u2019m SURE i will!<\/p>\n<p>but the free beer samples they gave us at the end just tasted like&#8230;beer.  *sigh.*<\/p>\n<p>we went on the regular tour.  there\u2019s a VIP tour, for clients of the brewery and members of the coors family.  we looked at the barley in the kiln, and i\u2019m sorry i don\u2019t have a photo of it, but  imagine a vast floor covered with grain.  <\/p>\n<p>except there were FOOTPRINTS in the grain.  our tour guide said that people on the vip tour get to WALK THROUGH THE BARLEY.<\/p>\n<p>sure, they\u2019re wearing protective booties or whatever, but this furthered my disinclination to want to drink beer.  people walking through the barley.<\/p>\n<p>when we got on the very plush and comfy little bus to go to the brewery, a large tigger, a princess, and a guy dressed as death boarded the bus with us.  these were the only costumed tour-goers we saw.<\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/graceuncensored.com\/WordPress\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/coors tigger.JPG\" border=\"0\" alt=\"me and christine with tigger\" \/><\/p>\n<p>here are the copper kettles.  i believe this was where they combined the grains with the water.  or at least that\u2019s what christine tells me.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/graceuncensored.com\/WordPress\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/kettles.JPG\" border=\"0\" alt=\"coors kettles\" \/><\/p>\n<p>at the end of the tour, we each got three samples of beer.  i tried one, just to see if it was somehow better than beer that i\u2019ve tasted time and time again.  it didn\u2019t.  but then i had an orange zima slushee.  craig, the rocket scientist who is also here visiting, was making fun of me for getting a slushee, but then he tried mine, and he LOVED it, and so he and pete also got them. craig got green apple, and pete, black cherry.  christine stuck with beer. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/graceuncensored.com\/WordPress\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/zima.JPG\" border=\"0\" alt=\"zima!\" \/><\/p>\n<p>as we finally left the brewery, a truck was being filled with grain remnants, which will be cattle feed.  <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/graceuncensored.com\/WordPress\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/coors outside.JPG\" border=\"0\" alt=\"outside coors\" \/><\/p>\n<p>when we got back to christine\u2019s sister\u2019s house, halloween stuff was going on full blast.  the family had been downtown to take part in trick-or-treating there.  this is how cute the town looks:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/graceuncensored.com\/WordPress\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/golden.JPG\" border=\"0\" alt=\"golden\" \/><\/p>\n<p>will and hanna were both dragons, and after the first trick-or-treating fun, they got to go out in the neighborhood to score lots more candy.  <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/graceuncensored.com\/WordPress\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/hanna &#038; will.JPG\" border=\"0\" alt=\"hanna &#038; will\" \/><\/p>\n<p>their parents, beth and greg, took the kids out trick-or-treating, so the rest of us left in the house were responsible for greeting the other trick-or-treaters.  not a lot of them came, and one was a lone young teenage girl, dressed in some kind of fancy skirt with a coat over it.  she looked very depressed.<\/p>\n<p>here\u2019s beth with the kids.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/graceuncensored.com\/WordPress\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/hanna will beth.JPG\" border=\"0\" alt=\"hanna will beth\" \/><\/p>\n<p>whew.  right now, we\u2019re all sitting around the greg\u2019s huge, 62&#8243; hdtv TV.  is that redundant, hdtv tv?
