well…it was long.\u00a0 a very long movie. very long.<\/p>\n
i was prepared, though – i didn’t drink ANYTHING for a few hours beforehand.\u00a0 didn’t have to go to the bathroom for the whole three hours.<\/p>\n
the blue people didn’t annoy me nearly as much as i thought they would.<\/p>\n
the night scenes in the glow-in-the-dark jungle were neat.<\/p>\n
the giant GIANT tree made me think of what the theme park ride will look like.<\/p>\n
i thought it was clever that at the end, the giant, REALLY SCARY leopard-like animal became an ally, as did the other big scary monsters running through the forest.<\/p>\n
i kept thinking, as james cameron kept slamming us over the head with his 3-D sledgehammer about how we humans are BAD BAD BAD and have looted and pillaged and destroyed everything in our wake…that when the indians fought us, they could have done a lot better if they’d had giant scary animals to help them…and a few rifles.\u00a0 and it would have helped if they were blue.\u00a0 well, maybe the blue part wouldn’t have been such a huge help per se, but it would have looked neat.<\/p>\n
that’s the thing about mr. cameron, that SLEDGEHAMMER he uses to drive home his point.\u00a0 the HARDASS military guy – who could be more hard ass?\u00a0 nobody.\u00a0 and giovanni ribisi – it was funny to see him being this mean powerful guy, because the thing i most remember him for is when he played lisa kudrow’s goofy brother frank jr. on “friends.”\u00a0 it must have been fun for him to be such a dastardly heartless bastard in this.\u00a0 The Man.<\/p>\n
when signourney weaver was lying there in the forest, mortally wounded (uh oh, sorry about that\u00a0 – SPOILER ALERT!!!\u00a0 but i think i was one of the only four people on earth who hadn’t seen the movie yet anyway), she had these bright green leafy vines woven around her body in strategic places.\u00a0 that shot just struck me as so funny, she in her perfect Eve outfit.<\/p>\n
at the end, when the HUGE BLUE GAL reaches down to kiss the hero’s cheek, she’s just SO BIG and he’s SO TINY in comparison, and i just thought, “this guy has a really big girlfriend.”\u00a0\u00a0 it’s a good thing they both end up being big and blue together because otherwise they’d have looked very comical together, her towering over him like that.<\/p>\n
mom thought it was WAY TOO VIOLENT.\u00a0 she should have expected violence.\u00a0 kevin liked it.\u00a0 i’m not sure what dad thought; i’ll have to ask him tomorrow.<\/p>\n
i don’t feel like watching the olympics tonight because of the marathon movie-watching.\u00a0 plus we watched a lot last night, and i’m starting to feel a little olympicsed-out.<\/p>\n
it rained all night last night and then a lot of the day today.\u00a0 if this had been snow we would have been so screwed.\u00a0 so rain, not so bad.<\/p>\n
i have no pictures today – i was going to take a couple photos of the waterlogged birds outside but i kept forgetting.\u00a0 the dishes with the bird seed kept filling up with water.\u00a0 the little seed-covered house birdfeeder was hanging precariously from just one nail, so i fixed it.\u00a0 i think the birds just wanted to stay inside.\u00a0 my sentiments exactly.<\/p>\n
