today is my brother david’s birthday.\u00a0 we’re going out for dinner tonight…at some point yesterday i decided i’d make dinner, instead, but after spending a great chunk of the day deconstructing halloween around here, i decided to rethink that idea.<\/p>\n

so instead we’re going out.\u00a0 yeah for restaurants.<\/p>\n

here’s my AWARD-WINNING BROTHER!\u00a0 he won “strangest costume” because of the mullet combined with the cowboy costume.\u00a0 he looked really funny in the wig.\u00a0 later we all agreed that wigs really make any costume.<\/p>\n

miss illinois, winning 2nd runner up in the people’s choice awards…he pointed out that he’d already won Miss Illinois, so who cares about 2nd runner up?<\/p>\n

shirene being SHOCKED to win her “sexiest costume” award.\u00a0 my favorite part of this picture, though, is jim standing there with his very manly stance and his waitress uniform.<\/p>\n

amy won “most obscure,” but this is the best picture anybody could take because she grabbed the prize and scurried away as fast as possible.<\/p>\n

david decker apparently has lots of different costumes like this.\u00a0 he won “most clever” costume, and seemed thrilled with his prize…<\/p>\n

keith and randy.\u00a0 keith always wears something really really hideous, but this year he didn’t because he was afraid i wouldn’t invite him anymore.\u00a0 but next year he can wear something scary!\u00a0 really!\u00a0 once you’ve come to a party, you’ll get invited back!\u00a0 I promise!\u00a0 keith also brought some awesome-looking cookies in the shape of bloody stumps of fingers.\u00a0 i didn’t even get to try one because they were gone so fast.<\/p>\n

last year bev’s “costume” was very lame.\u00a0 it consisted of jeans and a halloween t-shirt and a sign that read “nudist protest” or something like that.\u00a0 the sign doesn’t make it a costume.\u00a0 so this year i decided to award a SPECIAL CHICKEN PRIZE, for the person who put the least amount of thought and consideration into their costume.<\/p>\n

i got this chicken statue and wrote SPECIAL CHICKEN PRIZE on the base, and i typed up a very official document proclamation describing the prize.<\/p>\n

this year the prize went to deb iams.\u00a0 she wore a t-shirt that said “i don’t do costumes,” which was funny because she DOES do costumes – she’s a fantastic costumer.\u00a0 i was even more happy that i’d awarded the prize to her because later randy told me that she ALWAYS wears this t-shirt.<\/p>\n

jim put on amy’s mask.\u00a0 they’re always so funny.<\/p>\n

my neighbor chris, who once again arrived very late, this time with his lovely angel girlfriend, who has an unpronounceable german name, except it’s shortened to something very short like “gip” or “zim” but i never can remember.<\/p>\n

chris is a very quiet, conservative guy, so i found it particularly hilarious that he had painted his nails black, and wore these funny fangs…he couldn’t make them stick so he used SUPER GLUE!<\/p>\n

i don’t know why this photo of jim and gloria is so small.\u00a0 they were dressed as authentic germans; she got the dress in germany and it was very lovely.<\/p>\n

leigh and david.\u00a0 he must look so happy because this must have been after he won his spectacular prize.\u00a0 in addition to his prize card, he got a black felt kitty bag with a couple of beers in it and some crayons on the bottom.<\/p>\n
