Mom and I accompanied Kevin to almost every tomb ceremony this year, and in early August they’d covered Abe Lincoln in a big plastic sheet. He was like that for the remainder of the season, and hopefully they’ll be done with their interminable repairing by next year. He looked creepy encased in the plastic, especially his head. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n One early August morning these two deer were resting in the grass across the street and they weren’t too bothered by my being there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Sweetie and Lester weren’t bothered at all about Kevin eating a chicken salad sandwich, but rather they both intently stared at every bite. Les Paul did the exact thing to Mom last night, as she tried to eat a piece of chicken pot pie in peace. Lester didn’t actually grab at it, but he hovered a few inches from her. He’s a very persistent fellow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n The garage kitties are doing very well, except that if Spot hears me he starts meowing like crazy, the loudest meow you’d ever hear. I try to be really quiet when I’m near he door so he doesn’t start in.
