it’s like I jinxed things by writing that Winnie was OK as of yesterday – last night I stayed up much too late for no good reason at all, and this morning I was awakened by a sound that I couldn’t quite make out, but I suddenly knew that Winnie was having another seizure.\u00a0 he was under my dresser, where he’s been lying in the mornings lately.\u00a0 I don’t think it was too bad and it didn’t last so long – but he’s taking the anti-seizure medicine, so obviously things aren’t going well.\u00a0 he’s sleeping on the rug next to the couch now, and he seems – ok.\u00a0 it’s so frustrating, of course, because you can’t know how an animal is really feeling.<\/p>\n

it rained so much last night, or maybe mostly early this morning – there was 3 3\/4 inches of rain in the rain gauge, and quite a bit of flooding in the basement.<\/p>\n

a dramatic start to the day.<\/p>\n

the other day kevin put in a gate to the garden.\u00a0 I love it that there was just a gate, no fence.\u00a0 I was so busy doing something else that I didn’t even notice how much trouble he must have gone to.<\/p>\n

we went for a boat ride on my birthday and toun wanted to drive the boat, and I was happy about that.\u00a0 she was too.<\/p>\n

riley loves it in the backyard more than anybody, which is part of the reason why I strung the lights around the fence, so that we can be out there in the evening.\u00a0 it looks so festive that I think the cats and I will have to have many nighttime tea parties out there.\u00a0 or maybe cocktailes, since it’s all lit up and magical at night.<\/p>\n

I’m not 100% satisfied with my new banner, but trying to do a panorama after dark was just about impossible.\u00a0 the spliced together photos aren’t terrible, anyway.<\/p>\n

here is how it looked, sort of, before getting so dark.<\/p>\n

\"\"i’m going to go out and plant a few flowers now, since it should be easy to do because it’s so very wet out there.\u00a0 hopefully the rest of the day will be more calm.<\/p>\n
