yesterday afternoon i felt that i HAD TO MAKE MORE SUGAR COOKIES.\u00a0 dad loves them, jim loves them, they’re delicious, and there weren’t many left from christmas.\u00a0 first i made kevin a batch of sugar-free sugar cookies and then i made sugar-free frosting which involves mixing splenda and a little cornstarch in the blender and then making that into a frosting which is a lot of work.<\/p>\n
THEN i made the sugar cookies, which are also kind of time-consuming.<\/p>\n
i frosted the sugar cookies and set them on the dining room table.<\/p>\n
we went out briefly to walgreen’s yesterday afternoon, but before we left we shoved all the food on the counters back so mollie WOULD NOT EAT IT.<\/p>\n
on the way home from walgreen’s i suddenly remembered the sugar cookies on the table.\u00a0 uh oh.\u00a0 mollie must have flipped the platter of cookies onto the floor and eaten them all.<\/p>\n
maybe she didn’t.<\/p>\n
maybe she was too busy sleeping.<\/p>\n
FAT CHANCE.\u00a0 when we leave, mollie’s NUMBER ONE MISSION is to FIND FOOD.<\/p>\n
because she’s starving.<\/p>\n
we got home and the platter was still on the table.\u00a0 but instead of 27 cookies (sometimes i obsessively count things a lot), there were only 10.\u00a0 oh dear.<\/p>\n
she didn’t eat 17 cookies, though.\u00a0 one was in her mouth.\u00a0 kevin made her spit it out.\u00a0 one was buried in the couch.\u00a0 one was buried in her bed.\u00a0 and two were upstairs in the hall, tucked into two corners.\u00a0 these were in plain view, but she didn’t know where else to hide them.\u00a0 i don’t know why she didn’t stuff more into the couch; maybe it was too time-consuming.<\/p>\n
she was very excited when we got home, jazzed up on all that sugar fro a dozen cookies.\u00a0 she didn’t get any dinner last night, but instead looked very pathetic when i fed the cats.<\/p>\n
when we had a few people over, she got more treats anyway.\u00a0 today she’s sleeping off her sugar high.<\/p>\n
this morning amy announced that mollie need to lose weight.\u00a0 maybe mollie realized that too, and yesterday was her last hurrah.<\/p>\n
of COURSE that’s not it.\u00a0 the next time we leave again, she’ll spend her time trying to get SOME FOOD, SOMEHOW.<\/p>\n
if you were a dog, you wouldn’t have to worry about any new year’s resolutions.<\/p>\n
