along with this house came two peach trees.\u00a0 one is old and very large and in the past it has produced bushels and bushels of peaches.\u00a0 this year, however, only a few.<\/p>\n
the smaller tree, though, was loaded down with peaches.\u00a0 we picked and picked and picked them and now have baskets and bowls full of peaches.<\/p>\n
so i’ve been spending much time making peach things.<\/p>\n
i made a peach-bourbon upside down cake except i had no bourbon and instead used rum and it was delicious.<\/p>\n
today i’m making two custard peach pies.\u00a0 they’re in the over right now.\u00a0 next time i’m going to buy a crust.\u00a0 i never like to buy premade things but i HATE MAKING PIE CRUST.\u00a0 way way way too much work on this beautiful saturday morning when i should be outside.<\/p>\n
it’s cooler here now; yesterday almost the entire day it was only in the 60’s and overcast and it felt like winter.<\/p>\n
i realize this is silly, temps in the 60s don’t make it winter, but it felt winter-like to me.<\/p>\n
i’m also going to make a giant peach crisp but i think i’ll wait till tomorrow.<\/p>\n
i keep using big amounts of peaches for each recipe, but there are still lots and lots of peaches.\u00a0 maybe tomorrow i’ll start freezing them, too.<\/p>\n
if you’re in the neighborhood, please, stop by for a slice of peach pie or cake.\u00a0 or just a few fresh peaches, which is really the best way to eat them but neither man nor woman can live on peaches alone.<\/p>\n
