mom, her friend wanda and i got back from sunny naples on wednesday. \u00a0while there, not only was i going to post some photos of our trip, i was also going to somehow get many photos from wales photoshopped and ready to post.<\/p>\n

of course i did none of that at all.<\/p>\n

we had a great time; it was blue skies and highs in the upper 70s or low 80s each and every day. \u00a0perfect. \u00a0we rented a cute house on air B&B<\/a>, and it was nice to hang out in, although not a lot of hanging out was done because we visited most of the top attractions in naples.<\/p>\n

the only bummer was our flight out – we were supposed to leave at 1:00 p.m. last wednesday the 2nd, but i got a text saying the flight was delayed a couple of hours. \u00a0then another text…we ended up finally leaving springfield at 8:00 that night. \u00a0but at least it wasn’t cancelled altogether. \u00a0we got into naples at about a quarter to twelve, just in time to head over to the car rental place and get a car. \u00a0then it was a sleepy hour drive to our cute little house…and i didn’t get to bed til 2:30. \u00a0a very very late night for me.<\/p>\n

mom and wanda checked out the fridge.<\/p>\n

\"m1\"<\/p>\n

here’s my bedroom – i took the smallest one, which was for the owner’s granddaughter. \u00a0the bed was comfy, and i slept well cause i was so wiped out.<\/p>\n

\"m2\"<\/p>\n

the fabulous lanai! \u00a0the pool was covered when we got there, but we quickly uncovered it. \u00a0it’s nice that the whole area was screened, not that there were any bugs that i saw.<\/p>\n

\"m3\"<\/p>\n

the dining area, which we never used, except mom put her tennis shoes on the table one day.<\/p>\n

\"m4\"<\/p>\n

mom and wanda, thursday morning. \u00a0we spent almost all our time at the house sitting there. \u00a0it was quiet and secluded, and beyond the trees is a little lake. these lakes were dotted all over the neighborhood.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"m5\"<\/p>\n

mom got the master bedroom cause it was her birthday. \u00a0spacious and lovely, with a tv and a comfy chair and so much closet space.<\/p>\n

\"m6\"<\/p>\n

i did sit on this great sectional couch one time – it was so nice, and the rug was thick plus had a pad so extra soft…but i was rarely in the living room.<\/p>\n

\"m7\"<\/p>\n

the view from our front door. \u00a0it was a really quiet neighborhood. \u00a0i rarely saw anybody driving by, nor people walking much.<\/p>\n

we went to lunch at this restaurant that a friend of amy’s recommended. \u00a0it was great to sit outside and eat.<\/p>\n

i got the lobster reuben because people raved about it on yelp, but didn’t stop to consider the fact that i usually don’t like reubens. \u00a0but this had coleslaw instead of sauerkraut, and lobster instead of corned beef. \u00a0it was tasty but rich. \u00a0mom and wanda both got the lobster bisque, ditto with the richness.<\/p>\n

\"m11\"<\/p>\n

we didn’t do much on thursday because of the fatigue – i do recall that we went to the grocery store in the afternoon, and sat around some more. \u00a0then out to dinner! \u00a0i told the waitress at the seafood place that it was mom’s birthday so she got this delicious dessert.<\/p>\n

\"m12\"<\/p>\n

so that was our first day in florida…eating, shopping for food, more eating. \u00a0plus sitting around. \u00a0we did take a stroll around the neighborhood, but that’s about it. \u00a0a slow easing into our vacation…<\/p>\n
