we went to mario’s for dinner last night and i brought my sweater in case it was cold. i brought my sweater into the restaurant and DISTINCTLY REMEMBER PUTTING IT ON THE BACK OF THE CHAIR.<\/p>\n
we got home later and i remembered that i’d left the sweater there. damn. i called the restaurant to ask them to hold it for me till today.<\/p>\n
the woman on the phone asked where we’d been sitting and i described it to her exactly. she said “there’s no sweater there.” i went into more detail about EXACTLY WHERE WE WERE SITTING. again she said “there isn’t a sweater.” and then she said, in a snotty voice i thought, “i hope you find it.”<\/p>\n
DAMN YOU RESTAURANT LADY.<\/p>\n
it HAD to be there because we went right home after the restaurant. maybe she decided to STEAL my fine black sweater.<\/p>\n
but then i thought, what if it’s in the car? i went outside and checked, and there, between the seats was MY BLACK SWEATER.<\/p>\n
my memory had completely made up the part about setting it on the back of the chair. what’s even more alarming is i can STILL REMEMBER DOING IT.<\/p>\n
come to think of it, maybe i did bring the sweater in…but then i carried it back out.<\/p>\n
i have no idea. at this time (and this advanced age) i’m just happy we found our way back home.<\/p>\n
