and it’s a lovely one.  i talked to christine last night; she lives in denver and she said she was in meetings yesterday and when she left work, giant fans in the lobby of her office building were blowing the smoke out the door.  she didn’t know why there was such a haze, but it was the huge fires.

i suggested that maybe she should get out her hose and thoroughly wet her house down.

here yesterday we had a heat index of 101.  the air conditioner broke.  it was warm in the house.

the guy isn’t coming to fix it til monday.  kevin says we will probably need an all-new air conditioner.  it seems to me that this could be a very pricey endeavor.

nothing has broken today, mollie is going well, all is relatively quiet and peaceful, for the moment, anyway.

dad’s celebration on saturday was very nice.  well, that’s what people told me, anyway.  for me, it was pretty draining because almost every time somebody came in, and there were many, many people, i burst into tears.

but it was a beautiful day and everything looked very nice and we had lots of food plus amy bought some incredibly delicious and delectable cupcakes from sam’s.  60 of them, half chocolate, half white.  i ate three on saturday and luckily there were many, many, many of them leftover, and i’ve been eating many of them all week long.

i will probably not clean my house anymore all summer.

i guess i’ll work on the yard some more, because if i don’t the weeds will encroach and it’ll be bad.

i have so many photos to post here, including many i took of the giant gum ball tree being taken down, but it’s just not happening right now.

tomorrow, amy, mom and i are headed to chicago for my aunt sandy’s birthday celebration.  theoretically i could work on my photos in the car, but i have a feeling i’ll be doing a lot of the driving, and it’s bad to photoshop and drive.

ok then,

mrs. thursday hughes.
