but they sure are the most deliciously wonderful bit of deliciousness that i’ve ever had!

the woman who posted her irish car bomb cupcake recipe on her site got all kinds of flak from readers about the inappropriateness of their name, writing that car bombs are NO LAUGHING MATTER, so she caved under the weight of the pressure and changed the name of them to “chocolate whiskey and beer cupcakes” and i just have to say that’s a very LAME title and not full of descriptiveness like the other title.

i mean, calling them irish car bomb cupcakes is, in my humble opinion, an excellent way of taking something horrible and bad and turning it into MAGNIFICENT DELICIOUSNESS.

last night i was thinking about the cupcakes and amy texted me, asking if i needed one.  i said no, that i’d just had a cup of hot chocolate to satisfy my chocolate craving, but then she BROUGHT ONE OVER ANYWAY.  she is a fine sister and the delivery of the perfect luscious cupcake is yet another reason why i’m so happy she lives right next door, perfect cupcake range.

i don’t have chronic fatigue syndrome, nor do i have lyme disease.  when kevin and i took mollie for a (very slow because of my tiredness) walk, we met amy and jim walking their dogs, and jim reported this to me.  WHEW about that.  i was pretty sure it wasn’t lyme disease anyway cause i haven’t been around any ticks to my knowledge, but this morning i looked up chronic fatigue syndrome and wow, i feel bad for people who have that.  there’s a whole mess of unpleasant symptoms and no one specific thing to make a person better RIGHT AWAY, which is what i want to be, BETTER RIGHT AWAY.

yesterday i wasn’t any better and felt a little worse…not any symptoms of pain or anything, just SO VERY TIRED and weak and VERY VERY MAD about it.

today i’m pretty sure i’m feeling better except that the most vigorous thing i’ve attempted is fixing my photos in photoshop so that’s not the most accurate way to tell.

the day before yesterday, a heron was fishing off the dock.

we spotted the white pelicans, but they’re always just a little too far away to be as optimally photogenic as i’d like them to be.

we’re trying to cut back on the amount of bird food out on the deck because VERY SOON we’ll be sitting out there, but the squirrel was trying valiantly to get every last scrump of food out of the chimney of the birdhousefeeder.

he kept streeeeetching out like this, and i kept trying to take a picture, but he was so quick that most of the time i didn’t get a picture of him all unfurled, and then most of the photos were unsatisfactorily blurry.

here’s the picture of the IRISH CAR BOMB CUPCAKE again, to give you something to dream about on this lovely friday.

and here’s the link to the recipe, in case you feel inspired to make them this weekend.
