Life here in Springfield right now : warmer. still coughing. daffodils starting to come up, yay for that.

Back in Florida, BCV: after they took away our beach chairs Mom and I found a picnic table to sit at at the end of the Clearwater Beach pier. here’s a pretty terrible panorama, but you an see mom there on the lower right, talking to this old guy who came up to us. he clearly lonely and chatty and we talked to him for quite a while.

I think this might be my best sunset photo ever because of the spectacular sailing vessel out there. I took about 10 pictures of it, and this one was the winner.

As the sun slipped almost to the horizon a few people were already packing up and heading out.

I asked the old guy to take a picture of me and mom but he wanted to be in the shot…

And that’s the sunset finale.

We headed back to the Clearwater Beach Marina to wait for the ferry to take us back to Dunedin. I brightened up this photo so you can see the pelicans. They’re waiting for the guy under the umbrella to throw out the fish refuse while cleaning the fish to prepare at the restaurant.

Here’s a video where you can sort of make out the pelicans scrambling to get the fish. The place is called the Bait House, a restaurant, bar and tackle shop. i looked them up on facebook and they finally closed down on March 18th. I hope they’re doing ok.

In the background of the video you can hear a guy going “whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa,” and I think was bouncing a kid up and down. over and over. incredibly annoying.

it felt like we waited quite a while for the ferry but it finally arrived and quickly took us back to Dunedin. A mighty chilly ride and it made me think of Toun, who has been so cold many times on our boat.

When we docked I was desperately hungry and we found this fantastic restaurant just around the block from where our car was parked, across from the Dunedin Pier. It’s called Sea Sea Riders and it was soooo delicious. It helped that i was so very hungry. I wolfed down a fantastic chowder and then got this big healthy salad with fish on top. I looked them up on Facebook and they finally Covid-closed on March 25th which seems much too late.

I took this picture so i could remember the place.

This lovely fountain was in between the restaurant, which you can see there in the back, and our parking spot.

After we got back to our place I had a large glass of wine with the last piece of the yummy cake from Barb.

I’m getting close to the end of the posts from Florida; we spent one more full day there, and then had many hours to kill before getting on our plane home on Tuesday.

ok then, keep washing your hands,

G.H.
