Life update on April 2nd: many daffodils are blooming, the grass is green, buds are coming all over the place. spring is starting to spring, which is all good.

but of course there’s so much worry and uncertainty now that life is different. every day i furiously read about more cases of coronavirus, more dire things happening the world over. I end up siting on the couch reading so much that i feel my energy is spent so i haven’t been posting anything here in a few days.

so today i’m starting out with posting here, and then maybe i’ll exercise to get the endorphins to kick in, and i’ll hold off on reading all the bad news til later. it’s good to take a break from all of it sometimes.

so, my final florida sunset…hopefully it’s not the FINAL final florida sunset, but it was the last one for our trip in February.

On Monday Feb. 24th on Pass-A-Grille Beach, this gull found a fish and was clearly happy about it.

Was saw this party boat sail by. that’s a lot of people. I also took a video and commented that they were playing “Proud Mary,” but you can’t see it in the video so i didn’t include it here.

Here’s another person out there doing that surf-sailing, which is what i’ve named it because i don’t know what it is.

I went into the water because i didn’t want to come all the way to the ocean and not get in. It was fun. Here’s the beach by 6:00 when the crowds had way thinned out. that’s mom down there under the yellow umbrella.

And here’s my final bird picture of the day. I’d like to put all my favorite bird pictures on the walls of the house. maybe i’ll do that.

A little after 6:00 as the sun started to sink.

I changed out of my wet suit and Mom took a picture of me in front of the Paradise Grille as we waited for the sun to set.

This panorama isn’t bad…

…but then i took this one and a little kid was moving around in the picture. You can just make her out there on the right…

…And here’s a close-up. isn’t that funny? She looks like a weird little alien.

I took a time-lapse picture of the sun setting.

And here’s a video after it set. There’s a tradition of somebody ringing the bell at the Paradise Cafe and so i captured that, too.

A great beach afternoon.

We drove back to Tampa and stopped in at a Publix near our Tampa house. There was an armed security guard in the parking lot. The store itself was perfectly nice but i can’t say i’ve ever been in a grocery store with an armed guard outside.

We enjoyed one last meal in our lovely house.

And then i had to pack everything up. jeez, what a mess.

It took me about 45 minutes to arrange everything, and there was a little time afterwards before getting to bed.

Since our plane didn’t leave until 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday we had quite a bit of time to kill in Tampa. So, theoretically at least, one more post of our trip.

I hope you’re doing well.

ok then,
