well, quaaludes are one of the few drugs NOT on the list of potential anti-spraying kitty list. the vet gave me a big printout of info about kitties spraying and peeing and other such BAD KITTY behavior.
i was entranced by the huge, huge list of drugs they can give a kitty, from prozac to valium, and lots more stuff besides.
one problem is that there is, of course, no kitty drug insurance so the drugs would really add up, i’m sure, even though they must needs such teeny, tiny doses.
until they turn into full-blown junkies, of course.
right now i’m sitting in the hot tub room with les, and winnie just crept up the steps outside to the deck. he is sitting there looking in, although he’s actually looking out at the water right now, and les is looking in the door of the bedroom, so they’re pretty much ignoring each other.
the solution can’t be kitty on drugs for the rest of his life.
the vet said there’s a vet in jacksonville or somewhere who specializes in kitty peeing issues. i wonder what they do; kitty counseling sessions?
if he doesn’t stop spraying, he’ll have to go. erica’s mom could take him, i think, but she already has an inside cat, so he’d have to be an outside cat. this breaks me heart because les is so affectionate and sweet, but i have to think of it as better than being put to sleep, or living in the menard’s parking lot.
i think we should give him two more weeks, at least. i mean, really, he could live here in the hot tub room, except of course when it gets cold out and we start using the hot tub again, although he might enjoy it, you never know. also, i plan on stuffing even more flowers in here to over-winter them, so it would be much too crowded for flowers plus kitten.
that is all this 3rd of july morning.
